Haxe is the language Haxeflixel is written in and is the main reason behind the advantages it has over Flixel in AS3. There are many friendly places to get help starting with Haxe.
Haxenme enables Haxeflixel to target multiple runtimes with ease and utilize advanced features such as asset management.
The widely popular AS3 version of flixel is still widely used. Much of the code written for the AS3 version is still very usefull and can be ported with minimal effort.
